Dr. Shweta Uppal

Biography

Dr.Shweta Uppal is a versatile pathologist with both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology licenses in Dubai Healthcare city UAE, Abu Dhabi, Dubai & New York USA. She was trained in the UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School and certified by the American Board of pathology. She also holds two Fellowships for Oncology pathology from Memorial Sloan Kettering USA and Cytopathology, Hartford Hospital, USA.

She is currently the Chair of Laboratory Services for United Eastern medical services (UEMS) encompassing Danat Al Emarat Hospital, Moorfield’s, and Healthplus chain of clinics .Her experiences in Stand-alone and Hospital implant labs, CAP and ISO15189 accreditation,  across all technical administrative and quality processes helps to ensure a high level of satisfaction for all stake holders.

Her project management experience includes starting Laboratory Services from scratch for UEMS, Clinical Labs for DAE and Healthplus along with high complexity Next Generation Sequencing Lab for UEMS. She is a CAP auditor and was a key opinion leader in the scientific advisory Board for Becton and Dickson (BD) Middle East. As a panel expert for Anatomic Pathology, she has provided second opinion on investigation committee of Dubai Health Authority (DHA) of patient complaints.

Dr.Shweta is well versed in leading continuing medical education programs including delivery of lectures of pathological topics and has the expertise to provide, technical insight, scientific direction and functional expertise as a Medical leader think tank.
